Halloween's over. . . Time for Thanksgiving stuff!

Why is it that the day after Halloween all of a sudden candy looses it's appeal and I no longer have a desire to seek out the strange and the frightening.

Halloween was a blast! When you have two little ones to dress up (as pirates!) the fun never ends!
But now that Halloween is over, I'm looking forward to making pumpkin pie from the beloved decorated pumpkins my kids brought home from the pumpkin patch. mmmmmm. I can smell it now.

And did I mention that I am a bit of a turkey fanatic? Fresh from the oven, roasted, juicy, sweet, turkey!

So, in honor of upcoming Turkey Day, here are some new favorite "turkey", and "Turkey Day" things.

I love the vintagey print of this adorable baby bib. This would be perfect for that little one's first thanksgiving (or second, or third.) This bib is by krispybanana

I just had to throw this one in the mix. What is it? A sucker turkey! My mom had one of these when I was just a kid and every year we would put in on top of the TV but we weren't allowed to eat the suckers. Little did mom know that we would sneak one or two every year. (OK she knew, but we thought we were pretty slick). I think some of the suckers were like 8 years old! eeew. This turkey was made by Artsinthebarn

Look at those cute little eyes and that smile. You couldn't eat a real turkey drumstick that looked at you like this. I don't know what I would do with a stuffed drumstick but it sure is cute!

One of my favorite trends right now is all the spiffy decked-out headbands I see all the cool girls wearing. From frilly felted flowers to lace and vintage buttons, you can't deny their cuteness!

As I was wondering through cyberspace I happened across this adorable site called P.S. I made this. I'm sure all of you "in" people already know about this site but I just found it for the first time.

This site is full of do-it-yourself high fashion projects. Most of which don't take much time or money to make.

This one was my fave! A sweet art deco headband made of just a few items you can pick up at your local craft store (or in your own craft stash.) Yep, fancy yet super simple. (I knew you would like it.)

I think I might have to try this out today.

We got it! New onesies and tees

I just finished half-a-dozen cutesy, fun, and classy new designs!

Holy Monkeys! I am so excited! I have 3 new onesies/tees posted in my shop right now and the rest will be coming soon!

I wish I could turn my head inside out and drop all of my best ideas on this page. I have so many designs I want to make. . . (deep breath). . .but, one at a time I'll let them out and I'll share them with you. :)

This design started out as a custom request from a friend and turned into one of my fave onesies!
If you love punk music or style or if you just want to dress your kid up and spike his hair into a mohawk, this is for you. I would love to pair this with some funky plaid pants for a boy or a big pink skull bow for a girl. LOVE! (BTW it is available in light blue and pink too!)

I am dressing up my cute boys as pirates this year and I am sewing thier costumes. I just couldn't get away from a pirate themed shirt for them to wear before Halloween.

Halloween wish list. . . spooky!

The frightful night is creeping upon us like a spider stalking softly and quickly across his sticky sparkling web. It sneaks closer as the clock ticks it's mesmerizing repetitive song. Halloween will soon be here!

Halloween is coming and I'm all about ghouls, ghosts, witches and pirates! Ok, mostly just pirates. Maybe it's becuase I have been reading "Treasure Island". Or maybe it is because I have a secret crush on Captain Jack Sparrow (don't tell my husband). :)

I can't wait to sew my kid's pirate costumes. I may even make a pirate-ess costume for me! Savvy?


I've been working on some new print designs for Cantaloupe Corner and I am sure some pirate-isms are going to show up here and there.

Accessorizing

I know most of you don't know me personally but if you do, or if you have read my profile on etsy, you know that I am constantly picking up new hobbies and learning new crafts.

This weeks new adventure is. . . hair flowers!

I have found these chic hair flowers scattered around in Etsy shops and I finally decided to create my own. I love to find good ideas and give them a Cantaloupe Corner twist, subtle or not, and make them into something I LOVE! I've created 2 designs so far and I have a billion more in my head, trying to get out.

So without further adieu. . .

I am in love with this Amy Buter fabric. It is Mustard Wallflower. I've been staring longingly into my fabric bin hoping for a perfect idea to transform this fabric into something unique and fun. I also made the little flower bead that sits in the center.

This is my very first hair flower design. I fell in love with the rich autumn colors in the flower and I just had to find a way to wear it! I added some luxurious freshwater pearls to the center to make it truly unique. (I secretly wish I could wear this one everyday.)
